Learn the violin

  • Read music from scratch,
  • Undertake examination courses,
  • Participate in ensemble work,
  • Play all styles, as preferred (ie. folk),
  • Open to all ages and abilities,
  • Formal technique,

Whether you’re a beginner or an experienced player, your lessons will be tailor-made to your ability after a short assessment by the teacher during your first lesson (in order that a starting point is attained by your teacher).  All ages are catered for.  We encourage the reading of traditional notation from the start.  Examination courses are encouraged and pursued as a measure of progress and formal technique is delivered by the teacher. Ensemble playing is important for a string player and there are opportune times to play with other students in an ensemble setting.  All combined with fun and an eagerness to return to your next lesson.  But remember, development will only be enhanced by regular practise!  Access to an instrument is essential and help/advice acquiring one is to hand. Your introductory lesson is FREE.
